Hey,

Just been following this thread and I was hoping to ask a question to anyone who has used a van at the RRC. The permit asks to bring a driving license and 2 forms of proof of address.

My driving license has my old address (still in Southwark) so just wondering if anyone has encountered a problem with this? Would rather find out now than when I arrive at the RRC.

Thanks in advance :)

Hey Littlep,

I can't answer definitely, but when I showed up, the guy there seemed most concerned about just making sure I had the permit. There wasn't like a full ID check or anything. I'm sure if you've got a photo ID with an address in Southwark, as well as some other form of proof of address, you'll be absolutely fine.

Hope that helps!

As an aside you need to update your driving license for Change of address.

You really ought to update your driving license, there have been cases of people getting disqualified but not knowing it and subsequently getting their cars confiscated.

Having an out of date address on a drivers licence carries a ?1000 penalty, so it's a good idea to get it updated. However, the guys checking paperwork at the RRC seem to only be interested in checking you have a Southwark postcode and always seem very reasonable.

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
