social cycle ride 10am Saturday March 4th

Recommended Posts

The ride starts from Canada Water Library SE16 7AR which is opposite Canada Water Station and takes pretty exactly two hours. The plan is to ride to the O2 Dome in North Greenwich along the Thames path and keep going for an hour. You'll probably get just past the Dome and maybe as far as the Ecology Park.

The weather forecast for Saturday is pretty rubbish at the moment but it's still a long way off.

There will be a bit of a rest at the turn because the return route is shorter and cuts across the peninsula to Greenwich proper before following Quietway 1 back along Surrey Canal Road and along the railway path route to Canada Water.

That's 19km but pretty much completely flat. Route at https://goo.gl/d7Tr4C

    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
