Free!! Billy bookcases in Nunhead

(Apparently I've been let down by the person who was taking these.)

I've got several white IKEA Billy bookcases with extensions on top, which are free to a good home as long as you can come and collect them. (Which involves carrying them down some stairs.)

7 units in total:

4 x 2m tall white bookcases @ 80cm wide

with

4 x 35cm white top extensions @ 80 cm wide

1 x 2m tall white bookcase @ 80cm wide (with no extension unit)

1 x 4 x 2m tall pale wood effect bookcase @ 80cm wide (with no extension unit)

1 x 2m tall white bookcase @ 40cm wide

with

1 x 35cm white top extension @ 40cm wide

With extensions on: three of the wide ones have 7 shelves each, including the bottom of the unit; the other wide one has 10 shelves including the bottom of the unit; the slim bookcase has 8 shelves including the bottom of the unit.

They're second-hand, but not in bad shape.

We also have a substantial white bookcase, plain design, similar to a Billy but deeper.

It roughly measures 193cm tall x 121cm wide and is 40cm deep. I have no picture, I'm afraid, but it's in good condition. It has five shelves on either side of a central divide: 10 shelves in all.

They're available for collection asap and preferably this weekend.

NOTE: You will need a van big enough for the sizes I have listed above. You will need two people for the big shelves, or at least one strong person for the Billy bookcases. You should bring tools (flathead and Phillips screwdriver, Allan keys) just in case.

Let me know asap if you're interested.

    • Labour's latest Rye Lane Ward newsletter is now saying that demolition in the square will start this summer and that the wider station upgrade is expected to be signed off this year - as explained above, sadly wrong on both counts. It describes the renovation of adjacent buildings on Blenheim Grove as "successful", despite having lain empty for a couple of years, longer than the actual renovation works, before saying "the Council is hopeful [it] will see its first new occupants move in to this year". Cue desperate attempt to get at least one in before end of financial year? As for the other topic, in "November 2023, faced with a huge increase in graffiti across the borough, Labour-run Southwark council took action". Nice turn of phrase eh? Rather, after community pressure regarding years of inaction by said Labour-run council, it's finally started to do a little bit, a little late. Surely there would be more chance of resolving issues if our council could for once be part of an honest, informed discussion?

    • Just wanted to recommend Roger from Critter Solutions Pest Control if anyone’s dealing with mice or other unwanted guests. We had a sudden issue with mice in our home's kitchen and after calling around, these guys were by far the most responsive and professional. Roger arrived on time, was really friendly, and took the time to explain what he was doing and why. He did a full inspection and sealed up some access points we hadn’t even noticed. Since his treatment we haven’t seen or heard anything since. What I appreciated most was that it didn’t feel like a rushed job or a hard sell – just honest advice and thorough work. All backed with a guarantee.  Would definitely use them again (hopefully won’t need to!) and thought I’d share in case anyone local is looking.
    • Another recommendation for Jeremiah! He's cleaned our windows for a couple of years now and is always reliable, friendly and does a great job
