HJNMNunhead
I'm looking for a local drama/singing club for my eight year old, there isn't much at our primary school, some thing small and unpressurised would be good, he/she is keen but doesn't like stressful large groups any suggestions? nunheadmum
Margaret Omoniyi runs some different groups - drama, singing etc. My experience of Margaret and those working with her are that they're really good at supporting the quieter kids and encouraging them to come out themselves, even if the groups themselves aren't small. It's a small operation so there's no standard processing of the kids. penfold
Take Flight Academy is great - they run after school clubs at St Hildas in Crofton Park or in a hall in Barry Road (less familiar with that location).lots of fun and the kids really enjoy it (full disclosure - my wife helps run the saturday school and three of my kids attend either the saturday school or after school club - but they love it!)http://takeflightacademy.co.uk/classes/after-school-clubs Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/147622-local-dramamusic-groups/#findComment-1121728 Share on other sites
tarafitness
My elder son went to JASSPA at JAGS for a couple of years. Really enjoyed it. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/147622-local-dramamusic-groups/#findComment-1121888 Share on other sites
redjam
My daughter started at the East Dulwich Academy of Music and Performing Arts at Goose Green School (Saturday mornings) when she was eight and still goes now, a year later. She didn't know anyone when she went and is a bit shy but she really enjoys it and it's helped her confidence. It's quite a busy environment when you first arrive as there are lots of different activities going on at the same time, but the actual classes themselves aren't large. Would recommend.eastdulwichacademy.org Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/147622-local-dramamusic-groups/#findComment-1122127 Share on other sites
kristymac1
Another shout for Take Flight Academy , its really very good, there are a mixed range of kids and everybody gets equal chance to shine - it's fun, gentle (not massive intake), fantastic for confidence and run by really lovely teachers.
