30 hours child care

Does anyone have any info on this, in terms of knowing which nurseries will offer 30 hours p/w free later this year?

From what I've read, those which do opt in may end up out of pocket (for example, my son's nursery prepares hot meals, offers yoga and other activities as part of the fee, and there may be a shortfall between what the government will pay the nursery and what the usual fee would have been before the new rules apply).

All confusing, as with anything related to childcare fees!

Yes it's all really confusing as the government are also launching another service in September called 'Tax-Free Childcare' for parents but best to contact nurseries themselves to see if they will be offering the 30 hours. The 15 hours was a struggle for some and most are probably going ahead with the 30 hours but the last figure I heard HM government were offering to nurseries was ?4.88 per hour.

Thanks, I've registered on the HMRC for more info once it's available... You're right, there's also something where (like a pension) you contribute money and the government adds a percentage to a max. ?2,000 p.a.
