Wanted: Local babysitter for last minute/ad hoc childcare

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a Local babysitter who doesn't mind a last minute text to see if they are available. Sometimes when the kids are all asleep it would be nice to pop out for dinner, a drink, or a movie but I need someone local to East Dulwich who wouldn't mind a last minute 3 hour babysitting job. I need someone who doesn't smoke or have cats (severe allergy) who could handle 4 kids (age 1 & 7) if they all woke up. If interested in ad hoc babysitting or work as a mothers helper, please PM me. Thanks.

Hi there,

My name is Jess and I am currently a second year student studying at the University of Sheffield.

I live locally, across from Dulwich Hospital.

I finish uni at the beginning of June and would be available to work anytime from then.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Thanks so much.

Best wishes,

Jess

Afternoon!

I'm an Early years qualified teacher and I'm currently working as a teacher assistant in a Primary school in Nunhead. I do also some after school childcare and babysitting for different families. I have considerable experience on childcare through ages 0-6 and background as an au pair, mother's help... I live in East Dulwich near Barry road, and I'm looking for occasional babysitting, I'm really flexible so last minute is not a problem for me. Let me know if you are interested, drop me a message without doubt. Thank you :)

Cristina

Good morning,

We have a number of caring and fun child carers local to the East Dulwich area and can be available on a last-minute basis to look after your children. Our ?role models? speak fluent English, many are sports(wo)men and actors, who enjoy keeping young children engaged in fun, and active activities and helping them with their homework. We are Role Models (www.rolemodels.me).

Our Role Models?

All of our Role Models come with bags of energy, and a passion for either music, sport, art, theatre or homework help. This means we can 'match' a Role Model to the specific interests of your children which makes childcare even more fun and helps develop your little ones at the same time. Please find below some Role Model profiles to give you an example of the types of people we work with (please copy/paste the below into your web browser to view their profiles):

Hassle-free childcare?

Tired of dealing with admin involved with hiring a nanny? No problem - our service takes away the hassle of arranging nanny contracts, tax, and national insurance etc. Because all of our Role Models work via us, you will be free of all the admin involved with employing someone directly.

English-speaking and CRB/DBS checked?

All of our Role Models speak fluent English, are CRB/DBS checked, double reference checked, interviewed, and come with plenty of experience looking after toddlers and young children.

Emergency / last minute childcare?

We can also provide Role Models on a last minute / emergency basis to cover for e.g. sickness or during busy periods.

We do not believe in charging over-the-top agency rates and can start a search and set up meetings completely free of charge. We'd love to take the time to find the perfect Role Model for your family.

Thank you,

Will.

    • There's probably a bigger discussion on why we celebrate Christmas (pagan/religious festival) and why everything has to shut down.  I've enjoyed Xmas days in Spain, Mexico and France where some businesses and restaurants are open, and in a number of non-Christrian countries.  In both sets of occasions it has been festive, but not over the top and the Spanish seem to have a more relaxed attitude in a country where the church is probably more important than the UK.  A Lounge conversation.  I'll no doubt be popping into the Forest Hill Road supermarket on Xmas day for things we have forgotten, with many others in a similar situation who grew up in the Christian faith (I've long since been an atheist).
    • Would anyone have ends of balls of wool, any colour, to mend an old blanket? Any colour? With thanks Mila
    • I’m not a Gail’s fan but there’s no reason a business shouldn’t open on Christmas Day. However, nobody should be compelled to work the day which, given the widespread coverage of Gail’s questionable employment practices, has to be a possibility here.  The only business I ever use on the 25th is maybe a pub and that’s a rarity these days but buses running would be very welcome for visiting etc. But the swings in the park should definitely remain chained up. Are parks even open on Christmas Day?
    • To be honest, pal, it's not good being a fan of a local business and then not go there. One on hand, the barber shop literally next door to Romeo Jones started serving coffee. The Crown and Greyhound and Rocca serve coffee. Redemption Coffee opened up not far away, and then also Megan's next door to that. DVillage was serving coffee (but wasn't very popular), as was Au Ciel (which is). Maybe also Heritage Cheese, I don't know. There's also Flotsam and Jetsam doing coffee and sandwiches at Dulwich Picture Gallery in the other direction. The whole of Dulwich Village serves coffee. And yet on the other hand, there are enough punters to support all good coffee shops. With the exception of Rocca and Megan's (which are both big spaces) and C&G (which does coffee like everything else - slow and with bad service), all these places regularly get queues out the door. Gail's often has big queues and yet very few people crossed the street to Romeo Jones (which was much better)... Half the staff at Gail's are perfectly fine and efficient. The other half are pretty offhand and rude. It's certainly not welcoming or friendly service. But they're certainly hard working, and no doubt raking the money in for Luke Johnson...
