ClareC
My daughter will be 1 in a couple of weeks, we are having a party for her friends the weekend before but wanted to take her out for the day on her birthday itself. Originally was thinking the London Aquarium but it doesn't seem to get good reviews. Any other suggestions?January birthdays seem so rubbish :-( If it was summmer the zoo and a picnic would be nice but I am at a loss for a cold potentially wet day!ThxClare Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15047-where-to-go-day-trip-for-winter-first-birthday/ Share on other sites

sillywoman
Got no suggestions, but just wanted to say that January birthdays do get better ClareC. My daughter has for the last few years gone ice skating at Somerset house with a large group of friends, then home with them for a chinese & dvd afterwards - she says it's magical. Before that, as a younger child, she had some lovely birthday sleepovers with christmas tree lights strung all round her room. Yours is a bit too small for these things yet, but her time will come. Saila
We took our 1yr old to the Transport museum. Your ticket is valid for a year ie you can come and go for 12 mnths! It's got an amazing light show on the floor In one room and loads of old buses/ tubes to sit in. It's fun. Saffron
ClareC Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Originally was thinking the> London Aquarium but it doesn't seem to get good> reviews. Any other suggestions?> Oh dear! We went to the London Aquarium this summer when Little Saff was around 7 mo, and she loved it!! She boggled at everything, pressed her nose to all the glass, and slept for a solid 3 hours afterwards. It was great. Only thing that was a bit tricky was that I forgot to bring the baby sling. I ended up pushing an empty buggy and carrying Little Saff through the whole aquarium.Little Saff also has a Jan bday, and we're looking for things to do and places to go. I'll be hoping for some good suggestions on this thread.:-) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15047-where-to-go-day-trip-for-winter-first-birthday/#findComment-396938 Share on other sites
