Hi All

Starting to think about holidays for this year as it will be our first in school holidays. We have an almost 5 year old and a new baby, and a friend has recommended to us before the Siblu parcs in France. I'm imagining that they are kind of 'Centerparcs on Sea' but has anyone been and can you recommend?

Also - is it realistic to think that the South of France will be warm and sunny at Easter? I've been to Cannes once in March before and the weather was lovely then, but I was working so can't vouch for bikini weather!!

I haven't done Siblu but we went to L'Atlantique in Southern Brittany which is covered by Keycamp / Eurocamp / canvas etc but is run by French operator Sunelia. Our daughters were 4 and 2 and it was good - my eldest just asked yesterday if we were going back. Not the kind of place we would ever have gone when it was just us but with kids it was perfect - pools on site, 10 mins to the beach, local villages/towns about 10 mins by car.

One tip is to try booking direct with the French operators rather than the UK ones. If it's out of season you may not get the kids clubs that the UK operators offer (but out of season, they're a bit low key and you have to stay with the young kids - which negates the benefit a little, I thought). But at ours you did get much better accommodation - better caravans, equipment, pitches etc.

I think you do need decent weather to make the most of the pools. And a decent location with local villages or things to do in case the weather does let you down. Afraid ours was in Brittany so can't comment on South of France - probably a better bet at that time of year.

    • Thanks Penguin. It could be a coincidence. But after years of road safety being on the local agenda they finally put the crossings in months before Dulwich Estates regain the lease on The Grove.   The Estate understands there is strong local interest in improving this area and we hope to be in a position to share some exciting updates in the near future. The temporary skatepark will remain unaffected. “Temporary skatepark” is telling.
    • Back to my earlier post about familiarity.  I was in Croydon this afternoon walking between the two main stations.  Didn't feel unsafe, but there were some 'interesting' characters on the street.  Not that any were bothered with me. Not a place I'd choose to go for a bit of a fun.  Although having said that West Croydon has some cracking restaurants and the wonderfully named Saints and Sinners bar, where I once went on a corporate do - not that I did many of these. Whoops just checked and it closed a few months ago. Back on track, I never went to the Castle as I felt it was a bit rough.  How wrong was I?  Only real pub left in the area.
    • Wow Sue! I was reading your post with interest as I’ve never really felt unsafe in London and I was born here. It was just your last paragraph that derailed me and totally changed the subject matter! So unnecessary.
