August day camp ideas in Herne Hill/ North & West Dulwich

Our family is relocating to Herne Hill from the US in early August, and we're looking for some fun day camps for our 5-year-old son in August. He did one day of Nimble Arts camp in April but it seemed a bit chaotic; something with a bit more structure would be better if possible. He likes science, but we'd also like him to get outdoors and have the opportunity to be active. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

We'd love to welcome you back to Nimble Arts and are open 24th July - 18th August- sorry to hear it wasn't what you hoped for last time, this is not something we've heard before. When children arrive with us in the morning they have free run of our activity hall (or little 4/5's have their own activity space) and our assistants support the children in choosing their own activities. However from 10.00 they start revolving round 4 workshops in their age groups - these are structured and tailored to each age range and explore the theme of each day holistically. Then they're back in their activity space between 4.15 - 5.00 for pick up. Parents have fed back that children really enjoy the free choice in the morning/afternoon and breaks but also like to work on their own creations and take part in workshops with their peers. We have loads on offer this summer so do have a look at www.nimblearts.co.uk. We'd also be really happy to talk through your feedback in person as it's great for us as we develop to hear what parents and children would like to see more off - drop us an email at [email protected] if you're happy to share this with us. Thanks! Catherine (Nimble Arts Director)

    • Occasionally when this happens, the estate agent is complicit. Had this happen to our neighbour and we later found that the house was bought by the sister of the estate agent at the reduced price. The agent is in an advantageous position as he/she is aware of the seller's circumstances and occasionally one will go rogue to do a favour for a relative/friend.
    • Hello, I have a new boxed (unwanted gift) Tefal Secure 5 that you could have.  The model is P2500731 and is a few years old, just been sitting in a cupboard, but it hasn’t even been unpacked.  I think a new version is about £70 so you can have it for £25?  If interested, please let me know and I can drop off to you if you like as we are on Brixton Hill but pass through ED most days.  Best wishes, Alison
    • If you have any please let me know thanks Angelina
    • Not sure they are "exotic"? They've always been around in ED in the Summer!
