Police on Oglander Road / Marsden Road 24/01/11

Does anyone know why there were around 10 police vehicles and sniffer dogs at the junction of Oglander Road / Marsden Road in the early hours of the 24th Jan? Concerned due to the high number of burglaries in the immediate area (at least 4 in past few months). Thanks.

Ten police cars would hardly turn out to a burglary, would they?

There was a helicopter out last night as well.

They wouldn't turn out for a burglary but if they have found some den which was the epicentre of the whole business then they might have coordinated something like this

It must be a den of burglaring muggers, who should be given a very stern warning and allowed to carry on.

Well I heard that a lady was assaulted,I only heard it yesterday! The Hellicopter was out looking for the attacker. I dont mean to scare anyone reading this.

Sadly it was a burglary. Not us, but nearby. The police knocked on our door in the wee hours and let their sniffer dogs roam our garden and passageway as it looked like our side return had been entered. After resettling the children (we all woke up to the loud knocking on the door)I went back to sleep, so don't know if they found anything, and I'm afraid to say I don't know those neighbours that well to ask them what the outcome was.
