pfk
We have just bought a house that has been rented for years and we were only given one key... We would like to have the locks changed for security. Anyone done this when they've moved into a new house? Any recommendations? alex_b
Callows Locks (020 8299 4737) on Melbourne Grove are excellent. We had them replace ours after we'd had builders in and out during renovations, but the lock was trashed because of constant slamming. We got a ERA nightlatch and deadbolt that both operate from the same key and are insurance rated which was great.Generally if the lock is sound then you can just get a new cylinder which is much cheaper and quicker (and just as secure). This is what friends of ours did recently with the Banham locks on their house when they moved. figgins
Another endorsement of Callows Locks. They are excellent - turned up on time this morning to remove a broken key and ended up replacing the lock. Very impressed with their work and very reasonable price.
