gio.seller1
::oHello all!..I think this forum's a good idea, and it comes highly recommended by people that come in to where I work to tell me that they have done lots of wonderful things with it; sold stuff, got infos, etc. etc. So here I am, and for the moment, the main purpose of joining the forum..is to try and sell something! But why..oh why, is the forum so limited to allowing one only a mere 613KB of attachment space per posting?!!! I have three pictures to attach for maximum selling effect, but cannot do it, so now I shall have to have three postings, instead of just the one? Pickle
Make your files smaller and you'll be able to put multiple pics on one post. For photos a simple resize in Paint does the job. gio.seller1
Pickle...I have already got into a bit of a pickle all afternoon about this, and obviously you can tell that I'm not so computa savvy like you..but I have already done what you suggested, so are we saying that I need to reduce once even smaller..and will the result be good to view..without a magnifying glass?Giorgio Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15565-about-eastdulwichforum-image-size-limits/#findComment-406810 Share on other sites
sophiesofa
Big files and lots of files slow the forum down, that's why there is a limit. Screen resolutions are generally only 72dpi anyway so will never be as clear as a 'normal' printed photo. You can always email high-res versions to people if they want them. ianr
> are we saying that I need to reduce once even smaller..and will the result be good to view..without a magnifying glass? Good enough for most. There are lots of examples to see here, like this one.Or you could post them on a free file hosting site, and link to that. SeanMacGabhann
don't tell anyone but I think "gio" might actually be fictitiousI know I know, I'm a cynical *%%?but you have to wonder no??? ianr
I sometimes think the whole Forum is fictitious. ;)Speaking of fictions -- an occasional, and probably inconsequential glitch that I've noticed three or four times, all I think in the evening, during the last ? 8-12 days. On the contents page, the Last Post time just for just one section (which can vary; last night it was this one) differs from that of the actual last post in the section (and doesn't seem to match the Last Post time of any thread on the section's first page). It eventually comes back into synch. The longest I've seen it endure is probably less than half an hour. When my mind is free, I sometimes meditate on possible causes, to no obvious effect. gio.seller1
Thank you all respondents..your advice is appreciated; sophiesofa, I did think that asking respondents to request I send additional pics by email would be the solution, but I fear that first impressions count, and if that first picture doesn't grab a buyer by the throat, so to speak, the interest may pass in a split second! Sean..I assure you "gio" does exist.. ianr, can I have some of the drugs you take? You seem to be spacing out, matey..you are spending too much time in front of your monitor..starting to see things that ain't there, lol..have a KitKat..have a break!Gio::o Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15565-about-eastdulwichforum-image-size-limits/#findComment-406888 Share on other sites
louisiana
Going by that, Gio is definitely fictitious :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/15565-about-eastdulwichforum-image-size-limits/#findComment-406899 Share on other sites
