Advice on new car keys - how much??

I need done replacement car keys for my 7 year Ford S-max - normal remote locking etc.


I popped into Timpsons at DKH yesterday who said they could do this for ?213 per key. Seems very steep to me but Timpsons is ususlly only a bit more than the cheapest option. Is this the going rate or does anyone any better suggestions?

Lost our one key and tried loads of places. Best quote was ?160, including breaking in http://marquisautolocksmiths.co.uk/, great bloke, fully recommended. Key cutters in Lewisham Market are from recollection even cheaper, they did explain about reprogramming (ie that the original keys would not work any more). Dealers were far more exspensive and I would have had to get the car towed to somewhere near the M25.

      I mean if its going on for a long time I would think just having a talk to them over coffee would help.seems like they are freehold owners if they've been living there for a long time so i would advise not reporting them to the police since you will be stuck with them for a long time to come
