Crown Joinery Highly Recommended

I would like to recommend Crown Joinery in East Dulwich as a first class joinery workshop.

They recently made and fitted a new bespoke front door and new frame for us, in the original style of the house (that is 1920s).

Alex was extremely professional from start to finish, and he obviously takes great pride in his work. Every single detail is considered, and the result is a really stunning front door that fits perfectly in its frame. The frame included a side window, and the door has a rectangular window in the top third, with lovely molding and a very nice arched top. The three vertical panels at the front were also made beautifully.

The finish is completely professional, with lovely door furniture and we paid extra to have Banham locks, although this is optional.

We had the lead-work for the windows done by another local artisan recommended by Alex called Vince at Art with Glass in Crystal Palace. They worked very well together and so the measuring and fitting of the glass into the door was hassle-free for me.

When Alex took out the old original door frame, there was some damage to the plaster work around the frame both inside and outside, which I believe is almost inevitable. Alex and his decorator made sure that the damage was made good and came back the following day to finish, even though that was unplanned and unexpected.

If you are looking to replace your front door, I highly recommend you contact Crown Joinery - you will delighted with the result!

    • I haven't had a rude EVRI delivery but last week I had an unexpected delivery at 10.42 pm. He didn't ring the bell or knock on the door (or rattle the letter flap) but just took a photo and put the box down.  If it hadnt been for the door camera giving us a beep we would never have known there was a parcel ready to sit there all night.
    • Sorry if I’m being slow but there’s no point in having a gate then is there?  Would have thought it was basic manners to respect someone’s property

    • I have a rescue Spanish greyhound (galgo) from the charity mentioned above. You can contact Greyhounds in Need or one of the more local Kent greyhound rescue charities. They are fantastic family dogs. They do love walkies 2 or 3 times a day but they actually don't need to be walked too far and then they will happily loaf around on the sofa being very chill. They are brilliant with kids but not recommended if you own a cat as they have a strong prey drive. They also should be kept on the lead in local parks. They prefer to be around other sight-hounds (well my one does) and there are loads of local sighthound owners in Peckham, Crystal Palace etc and a very lively WhatsApp group that is brilliant if you need dog sitting as you can usually find someone to do that for free in return for you looking after the dog at a later date etc.
