Hi - mummum, it might be worth contacting Bugaboo customer services directly and see if there's anything they can do. The brake on our chameleon snapped a few months ago and even though it's 3 years old and way past warranty, they sent us a new base within a few days, free of charge. They were really helpful. I had to provide proof of purchase (managed to get an old credit card statement from the bank which showed the John lewis transaction) and emailed pics of what had gone wrong. I got the number off the website. I'd try that first as all the buggy service places are quite expensive from what I could gather.

Buggy Pit Stop might also be able to help. http://www.buggypitstop.co.uk/default.html

They were really friendly when I needed replacement parts for my bugaboo gecko, although I did have to phone and email them a lot. They are only a small business, so I guess they get busy? I ordered parts from their website. You can also drop off your buggy for repair.

Hope that helps. x

the chassis for my bugaboo chameleon is currently with buggy pitstop... they now do pick up and collection through Peppermint on Northcote Road in Clapham and you drop the chassis off with them on a monday and it comes back the following week.. apparently they are the only place in the country to repair bugaboos..

mine would no longer fold down and apparently the ratchet had snapped and for repair and clean is going to be about ?100

give them a ring on 07921480574. i emailed a fair few times through the website and they never got back to me but were easy to get hold of on this number

    • Thank you, this really made me chuckle. It's like you met my brother as he would be the one taking more than his share. Plus the 'pikey' chutney is a winner. Unusual as in can't be identified??? Sadly I'm not the host otherwise I would definitely do that I regularly shop in the Cheese Block and am a fan. But as people have pointed out, there is no cheese shop that charges less based on bulk, so Aldi unusual cheeses may be what the familam receive! Yay, so I can get discounted mouse nibbled cheese still! Oooo, now I do love a Stinking Bishop. It actually offends my stepmum by it's stinkiness but luckily she is not one of the attendees at this particular gathering.  This is blooming genius. It's actually my partner who has the biggest issue with buying in plastic so I will have to hide the wrappers from him!
    • I like the look of SD's Sweet and Sour chicken. It's a really good dish when made freshly and well. I'll need to try it. Sad that Oriental Star and Lucky House by Dulwich Library both closed at a similarish time. They were decent, reliable, "British Chinese" takeaways.
    • William S Spicer was a family-owned firm that initially made horse drawn delivery carts for breweries (especially Fullers Brewery in W London) and horse-drawn trams. With the advent of the internal combustion engine, they successfully made the transition to coachbuilding delivery vehicles London's leading department stores using German engines. WW2 interrupted their business for obvious reasons, and their postwar attempt to become the local assembler and distributor of Bulgarian "Izmama" trucks was not blessed with good fortune. In 1953, the company pivoted to being a full-service garage, leveraging their reputation for honesty and excellence.  In 1972, the Dulwich site was sold to its present owners. William S Spicer III (the grandson of the founder) retired to Lancashire, where he founded a sanctuary for the endangered ineptia beetle, which he had encountered in Bulgaria while travelling for business. In 1978, Spicer was awarded an OBE for conservation, and a newly-discovered  beetle was named after him by the Bulgarian People's National Academy of Sciences - Byturus Spicerius.
