Recommendations for landscape gardener

We recently had our garden landscaped by Acer Homes and Gardens (http://www.acer-homes-gardens.co.uk), which involved levelling most of the garden area (about 4 skips of concrete and soil), building low retaining walls on 3 sides, laying artificial turf on half the garden and decking the remaining patio area.

Following site visits from 3 other companies, we received a detailed quote from Acer, a company based in ED (you often see their smart-looking vans in the area), and chose them based on their knowledge, advice and professionalism. Their team guys worked hard, they were very polite, cleaned up every evening, and did an excellent job. Throughout the process, the friendly Acer management team was at hand at short notice, always responded to phone calls, regularly checked progress on site, emailed receipts of payment and acted in a very professional manner. The works were carried out to our complete satisfaction and we would not hesitate to use them again and to recommend them.

    • Electrical work can be dangerous, and hiring an unqualified individual can put you and your family at risk. and negate your insurance. A qualified electrician has the training and experience to safely handle any electrical issues, reducing the likelihood of accidents or injuries. With the exception of simple tasks, it is illegal for anyone other than a licensed electrician to perform electrical work. Hiring a qualified electrician ensures that the work is done in compliance with local laws and building codes. Some electricians are being recommended on EDF but here is no indication that they registered with NICEIC or NAPIT.  One is well advised to steer clear of Check-a-Trade which is a marketing service funded by subscription.
    • Didn’t they have a very ‘unusual’ way of allocating council housing which was also criticised in that report and which hopefully has now been changed
