where can I safely recycle old mob phones and laptops?

Hi there

i have 1 old laptop and 2 mobile phones that I need to trash

I m not much into technology but I am concerned for datas/info on both phones and laptop ..

Also i m environmentally friendly

where and how is it good to recycle them??

With Data - it used to be a sledgehammer to the hard drive :).

There are programs that write 00000 across the whole hard drive if you are serious about protecting the data without the sledgehammer.

But than where do I go for recycle..?

Just leave it outside your house.

Someone will take it.

Or at least years ago that was what I did with an old PC (having trashed the hard drive first).

Or advertise it free on here, some people like taking them apart :)

Remember to wipe your mobile phone too - not just a factory reset. Data can still be retrieved even after you think you've deleted it (diskdigger can reveal a lot of information you think has gone). There are some reasonable apps out there that offer ways to delete things/overwrite the information several times and all that jazz.

both phones they don t work no more so no apps. furthermore they are older generation so no apps anyway..

It's not the apps that store information but the phone itself... sledgehammer or a trip to mount doom :))
