hammerman
Seen lots of blackberries around growing wildly. My dad used to grow gooseberries in our garden (going back to the 70s) back can't seem to find them now. red devil
My Dad did too, so one year I went and bought one from a garden centre, this year's crop has already been picked and scoffed...:) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/162523-anyone-know-where-you-can-buy-gooseberries/#findComment-1163549 Share on other sites

red devil
July is the traditional season for them, but I'm sure you can get tinned/frozen ones all year round in most big supermarkets... Ruffler
The fruit and veg stalls in Herne Hill Sunday market and the Seasons of England greengrocers next to DuGard & Daughters usually have gooseberries when in season. JohnL
Tinned ones aren't the same - need fresh ones, top and tail them, boil a bit and make a crumble. We had loads of gooseberry bushes in the 70's too - was it a thing Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/162523-anyone-know-where-you-can-buy-gooseberries/#findComment-1164274 Share on other sites
