Having read this thread I'm going to pledge to swap chocolate for fruit / healthy snacks until the spare tyre goes.

Has anybody seen the graze.com web site? They send you your first box free, I got mine yesterday and it was lovely. Nice healthy snacks to keep you off the biscuits.

Good luck everyone.

Belle '...creme eggs my particular downfall!'

Me too! I so wish I'd never had that first one!!

Bad curry last night (but not much of it - piled it on OH's plate) and Jacks for Mummy's day lunch tomorrow.

Oh dear - not looking forward to the scales on Monday!

Tankety, tank, tank....

But ryedalema, a nutritionist told me about the 70/30 (or is it 80/20?) rule - be good 70% f the time. i couldn't live without occasional treats, and def never want to have a massively denialist diet, so I quite like this ratio! Plus Jack's food is soooo good I can't believe it's unhealty :)

Creme eggs - the other day I couldn't find individual ones in Co-op so bought an easter egg version, intending to have one creme egg in the day and share some of the chocolate egg with husband at night. But ended up having second creme egg that evening (2 in one day - surely a v bad thing) and most of the chocolate egg too...it's so weird because on paper creme eggs sound disgusting. Now am craving...

Thanks Pickle - as you well know I drank my weight in alcohol last night.... and then some :)

Heading off to Sainsburys now to buy my smoothie ingredients

Belle - ur list of do's is great, as you say it isn't rocket science however it's so easy to get off the track and struggle to get back on it.

I've just been having a look at some of the WW recipes on line - i really think I can get away with given them to Mr Pebbles without thinking that he's on a diet - if that makes sense - they look yummy and doesn't feel like they're diet foods :)

Bad creme eggs...bad creme eggs for being so tempting and deceptively small (which makes me think they can't be that naughty!). My OH came home with a tin of Roses yesterday - aaggh! At least he's hoed most of them by now so I'm less likely to woof the lot.

I wish I could think about fruit the way I think about chocolate. Maybe hypnosis might help....hmmmmm..;-)

So how's it going everyone?

I'm 7 days in and doing well.

I'm upped my exercise (ie I've started walking everywhere and attempting the gym (once)

I've cleared cupboards of ALL baddies (so much so that about 5 mins ago i searched high and low for something bad and the badest thing i found was a small box of raisens (that my kids scoff) - and the joy i had :)

I'm absolutely eating my 5 a day - probably more

My skin is pretty minging but i'm sure that this always happens and in a matter of weeks it'll be beautiful and smooth (please)

Weight loss - very positive

Motivation - still very high

    • Another recommendation for Dulwich Test and Services Centre. Only been using them for a couple of years but wish I’d found them earlier
    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.
    • It's not really though, is it. It's practical.  At least we're allowed Christmas lights.
