I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder with 20 years experience in Childcare both as a Nanny and a Childminder. I also have gained additional experience being a Mum to my now 18 year old son. I trained as a Nursery Nurse in Glasgow, my home town, where I gained an HNC in Childcare and Education in 1999.I have an Outstanding grading from Ofsted for my last two inspections which I am really proud of. I love my job and get enormous satisfaction from watching children grow, learn and develop under my care. I currently have a two day vacancy on Mondays and Tuesdays and a one day place on a Monday due to children moving on to nursery this term. I am based in Forest Hill. I have a lovely home with a designated playroom and large garden for the children to enjoy. I work alongside two other childminders/friends and we and the children all have lots of fun together, visiting the wealth of local parks/woods, Horniman Museum and gardens being a big favourite. We also enjoy the Library, occasional playgroup and busy creative days at one anothers settings. I can provide many great references from current and past families who would be happy to share their experiences of my service with you. Please get in touch if your feel I can be of help to your family. I can also be contacted on 07952705717

    • I know people won’t have any sympathy but the SEND challenge was brought up when taxing parents who have opted for independent school to meet a child’s SEND needs. Funding crisis is getting worse and the VAT on Education pushed children out of independent schools, now their SEND needs are to be met by the state.
    • I completely agree with you - and last night was really terrible where I am. Between midnight and 1am was the worst, where it genuinely felt like a war zone. I had to run out of my house to try and stop a grown man setting them off in open space right by our front doors. In response he went to throw a half lit one at me and then seemed to think better of it. I am so sad at how bad the situation has got here and how selfish people are. Fireworks are bad for the environment and for pets and wildlife, as well as just being unnecessary noise for people too. I have sent an email today to Helen Hayes, which I have done previously on this issue. Would advise anyone to write to your MP to do the same, and to ask them to engage with the debates scheduled for 19 Jan.
    • And they started long before midnight!
    • First mate - I wondered if I was imagining things at 4.45 this morning . Apparently not .
