Oh JOY of JOY.....

Danny Baker will return to the BBC London 94.9fm airwaves on the 18th of April.

I am overjoyed however, since his absence I've strayed off the dial after 3 p.m.

( there is only so much Gary Crowley a man girl can take. I can do 10 minutes before I throw the cat at the radio or shave my hair off )

So today, for the first time in ages at work and then in the car, I listened to BBC radio 1. ( no really, I did )

IT MADE ME LAUGH LOTS....

( I may be suffering from a form of cabin fever/ oasis vision syndrome )

The candy man may well save the day.

Ahhhh hhhhaaaa....

You are a pleb. Where have you been, serving a sentence in solitary confinement for the last few years?

Danny baker is a comic genius, that you don't recognise that is your loss.

Surely you loved the Daz ad's, no ?

BBC Local Radio Under Threat, which includes BBC London 94.9fm.

The BBC are thinking about cutting back on local radio programmes and only making breakfast and drivetime shows. The rest of the time they would broadcast 5 Live.

In London that would mean the end of the excellent Danny Baker & the Robert Elms show, plus Jazzy B.

Also the sports coverage of local ( london ) teams.

Are the BBC FU(KING MAD ?

Jeezus H Christ, someone should put the board and the chairmans heads on a pike.

Local radio in London is not up to much compared to its regional brethren. This afternoon I had the pleasure of Radio Wiltshire for about 20 mins on the M4. It went as follows:

Billy Ocean - When the going gets tough

An interview with a man who had written a puzzle book

The travel news - there wasn't any apparently

Enrique Iglesias

The Cake of the Week slot

Whitney Houston - I will always love you. (Described by the DJ as "having a lot of notes in it.")

I mean how can Danny Baker and co expect to compete with that kind of broadcasting gold?

Well Nashoi I do agree. I'm being a right ol' n.i.m.b.y. here.

So, leave MY radio station alone or i'll march on Parliament.

Cake of the week, now that's great on radio.

    • The Commons Public Accounts Committee questioned both the CEO and MD of Capita yesterday, at their last meeting before the recess:  https://committees.parliament.uk/event/25889/formal-meeting-oral-evidence-session/.  In October they'd already expressed concern that Capita might not  be able to efficiently retake over responsibility for the administration within the timescale. Given the joint statement recently issued by Capita and the Cabinet Office I'm not sure that contacting an MP is going to add much, other than venting what I think most of us can probably appreciate of what those affected are likely  to be thinking and feeling; unless perhaps, and I hope it's not needed, to report on deficiencies in the immediate rescue actions.

    • Two for Ratcliffe, the obvious one:   And one simply because it has the word  "You are nothing but blind fascists" in it.  Oh and a good song too.   Haven't listened to this for years.  Bloody good!
    • It's time to ditch your team, otherwise you could be seen to supporting your owners dog whistle comments (aka racist). Fortunately you can support a local team, I understand that Palace have pretty right on fans, and you have Dulwich Hamlet and Peckham Town too. If you genuinely are from the North West then Everton fans are well rated for their politics (ignore the paving over paradise/loss of UNESCO world heritage status), and of course FC United of Manchester. Salford Town not a bad bet either. For those who are glory hunters dare I say over the river in the North London library aka Emirates (shame they don't rhyme) you have both the likelihood of a title this season and a very multicultural fan base. If you want to be really cool the Welsh speaking team Club Cymric, Forest Green Rovers, or AS Livorno in Italy, an anti-fascist team
