I really recommend this great carpenter who lives locally in Nunhead - Philip Quinn. He has done lots of work for us with wardrobes, TV unit, new doors, and some flooring repairs over the past two months. He is professional and helpful, and very tidy, and we're so happy with the end results. Please contact him on 07701 097779, or email [email protected]

Just want to reiterate the high praise for Philip Quinn.

He's just completed some wardrobe doors for me on short notice and with a quick turnaround and I'm thrilled with the results. He was a pleasure to deal with, turned up when he said he would and the quality of work was very good. I'll certainly be keeping him in mind for any work in the future.

I can also recommend Philip. He recently completed some floating shelves in our living room and some wooden shelves in our kitchen. He was very responsive, reliable, professional, and did a great job. We would definitely ask him for help in future too. One thing to bear in mind is that he doesn't paint or finish the shelves himself - you have to do the polyfiller, woodfiller, painting etc after. However, he has said he will recommend someone to come and help with these jobs.

    • They’ve backed away from pretending they produce their own goods recently. That claim sat at the centre of the misdirection for years. They’ve now accepted they can’t sustain it, so they’re beginning to highlight the local independent bakeries whose products they actually sell. The business is essentially a courier model running on a slim margin.
    • Another sparrow hawk visor to our cherry tree at the weekend.  Our robin survived, but we may be a sparrow down.     any thoughts on bird feeders & bird baths with the current bird flu?  I try to wash out the bird bath most days when at home, but not on the 3 days in a row that I’m in the office & the bird feeders rather less regularly. Would it be better not to have at all (as my partner thinks)?
    • OOOPS. My daughter just had to pay a five pound fine. I hadn't put a stamp on it. I remember wondering whether to use a  first or second class stamp,  and clearly when I posted it I still hadn't decided (but sadly didn't notice). I feel really bad for suspecting a postie might have  opened it.  Sorry posties.
