Hi Johanna,

I'm looking for exactly the same thing. I speak to my 2-year-old in Spanish and would like him to spend some time each week with a group of other Spanish speaking toddlers singing songs, reading stories, etc. There used to be a group called 'Bilinguebabes' which ran in Brockley but it stopped running a couple of years ago. Please keep me posted if you hear of anything and I will do the same.

I'm also considering setting something up myself if i don't find anything else, i.e. employing a native Spanish speaking tutor to come to my house and do songs / story-telling for an hour per week and splitting the cost with 3-4 other families if I can find others who are interested. Is this something you (or others who read this post) would potentially be interested in? I live close to Dulwich library.

All the best,

Lily

Hola,

Thanks for the info Babsy. I am a Spanish mother looking for a Spanish toddler class so my 2.5 years old son can practice the language. I have found none so far, but will check this V22 centre. Alternatively, I am considering to set up my own group...if there is an interest, we potentially could meet up and explore the options.

All the best,

Ana

    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first, as they don't actually mention fresh fruit on their website? But apples aren't that perishable. Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
