Shane Clarke
http://www.london-se1.co.uk/news/view/5250 Huge regeneration of London Bridge Station announced. Following completion of the Shard, bus station and terminating platform station concourse in early summer 2012 they start on the station proper late 2012. Good news! zeban
I don't know if this is good news. What's wrong with the station? seems fine now to me. sounds like a waste of money when people are losing their homes etc Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16848-london-bridge-station/#findComment-429104 Share on other sites
Pearson
Excellent attitude Zeban.Just as well we don't all think like that, as we may still be living in caves!Progress creates jobs and jobs allow people to have homes :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16848-london-bridge-station/#findComment-429107 Share on other sites
Loz
What's wrong with the station? Apart from the appalling crowd flow since they installed the gatelines? Apart from the fact the roof leaks and doesn't cover a lot of the trains. Apart from the fact that the concourse is freezing cold in winter as the wind whips through the station? And that moving from one area of the station to the other is via stairs, making it a nightmare for people with disabilities and luggage?Apart from all that I suppose it's fine. dita-on-tees
I hope they improve the connection from the mainline station into the tube as that is dreadful. I look at St Pancras and think that would be a good model - lovely clean, with decent shops and toilets. zeban
Except minimum wage jobs don't allow people to keep homes! Fair enough though, I didn't realise there were quite so many problems. I used to use the station loads but haven't at all for a year or so now Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16848-london-bridge-station/#findComment-429113 Share on other sites
Alan Medic
At least the homeless will have a better quality of place to kip for the night. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/16848-london-bridge-station/#findComment-429130 Share on other sites
Annasfield
I'd like them to relocate the platforms trains from ED and Peckham Rye come in to. 11 or 12 please. Running to platforms 14, 15 & 16 for the last train in high heels is never fun!
