Hi all

My parents want to visit but my dad is in a wheelchair and our house is not accessible in any way. We were wondering if anyone knew of accessible accommodation in the SE22 area or nearby, or had any advice on where to look for this sort of thing? It's a new area for us as he's not been using the wheelchair all that long.

Any thoughts or advice would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks

Colin

When you say your house is not accessible in any way - how do you mean? Long flight of steps to the front door?

No downstairs loo? Some people use a wheelchair because they cannot walk very far - my mother did but we managed to get her walking up and down a few steps into the house and into the loo - took 2 of us and she was very slow.

Or are you looking at overnight accommodation? Places like Premier Inn and Travel Lodge usually have a disabled suite/rooms - I think the nearest Inn is around Tower Bridge.

At least the last administration had the inflation and unemployment rates going in the right direction at the END.
    • Yes but what's the answer, Jazzer? No government can simply walk in and fix the economy - get the bills down, grow it and reduce debt. There is no silver bullet. The public (and the press) wants everything now, everything cheaper, but with better public services and lower taxes.  In the radio and paper, all you ever hear is pundits, MPs, think tanks and economists saying what won't work, but no one seems to know what will work.  I'm genuinely interested to hear what other views people have on here, and what they think will help, or make things worse.
