Smiler
Am on maternity leave, have moved from ed and my office has also moved, to Holborn. Trying to figure out how on earth to get to/from work when I return and hope forumites might be able to help. Will be going by train to london bridge, arriving just before 8am, and leaving holborn around 3.45pm.Tfl says the 521 bus from london bridge takes 19 mins to get to holborn, but I mistrust their estimates!Any tips/experiences would be appreciated, thanks. ClareC
Tube quicker.... Northern line to Bank and then Central line to Holborn. Admittedly haven't used that bus but agree 19 mins seems to be unlikely that time of morning. Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17015-london-bridge-to-holborn-by-bus-how-long-does-it-really-take/#findComment-431690 Share on other sites
Frankito
I use the 521 from Lon Bridge when not cycling. The journey time of 20 mins is accurate, traffic pending. Have you considered cycling? I started last year and haven't looked back. My journey time from Therapia Road to St Pauls is roughly 30 mins. Beat that On any tfl route.... Work out, avoid the crush and save money at the same time.... Applespider
You'd probably want to allow at least 30 minutes to be safe - since there's no guarantee a bus will show up as soon as you get to the stop - let alone make the 19 minute journey time. The Tube is quickest but horrible to try to get on at London Bridge in rush hour.If cycling the whole way is too nervewracking initially, you could try a Boris bike? Or, on a nice day, walking along the river? Probably wouldn't take that much longer than the bus journey and be infinitely more pleasant. Saila
slightly different idea - but if you're near-ish denmark hill or peckham rye, you could hop on the direct train (10mis?) to blackfriars and walk. that's what i do - it's a lovely walk from blackfriars, through fleet st and lincoln's inn fields. PeckhamRose
I walked from Holborn to London Bridge the other day. Can't remember exactly how long it took but there was SO much t see, you could go different ways each time for ages. And yes, Lincoln's Inn and Temple Inn and so on, fabulous.
