sociable cycle ride Sat October 14th

This is a Canada Water one -- starts 10am from outside Canada Water Library and returns to the same place at 12 noon. It's a very safe, mostly off-road route -- lots of it on National Route 4.

The ride heads off along the Thames (mostly NR4) to Greenwich and then goes under the water at the foot tunnel near the Cutty Sark. It pops up in Island Gardens like you do and then heads along the north bank to Tower Bridge.

Tower Bridge is narrow and congested but the speed limit is 20mph and the congestion stops speeds getting to that. And it's strictly enforced. There are weight limits which TfL enforces against everyone except buses so the bridge is not as difficult for cyclists as you might expect. Cross on it to the south bank and then head back to Canada Water (again mostly NR4)

David is leading. This is the map

    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
    • Yes, but I want to know where he stands on all this stuff now. My feeling is it won't be any different from Labour?
