** Sticks and Stones....

------------------------------------------------------------

...well these bamboo sticks and hot volcanic stones will definitely NOT break your bones. That would be very bad for business!

We are delighted to be adding not one but two brand new Balinese massage treatments to our menu: Hot Stone Massage and Warm Bamboo Massage! Having spent a month in Bali over the summer (get me) learning these fabulous massage techniques from the experts at Bali International Spa Academy, I'm now ready to offer these new services to you, our lovely clients.

** New treatment! Hot Stone Massage

------------------------------------------------------------

Hot Stone Massage uses volcanic basalt stones to massage the muscles of your legs, back arms, chest and stomach. A total of 14 stones are heated to over 50 degrees C and used first to massage your muscles and then pairs of stones are placed on specific points on the body while the other stones are used to massage the rest of the body. By the end of the massage sequence in prone position you will have 14 stones placed on points on your back and legs, creating and wonderfully warming sensation all over your body

In supine position 12 stones are placed on your stomach, in your hands, under your shoulders, underneath and on top of your legs.

Great for sore muscles or for deep relaxation, this massage feels fabulous in winter (or at any time of year!)

Until the end of October this massage is being offered at the introductory price of just ?45 for 1 hour or ?60 for 90 minutes. (N.B. you are welcome to book ahead for appointments in November too!)

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
