free bike maintenance evening October 19th

Dr Bike, respected expert on bike health, will fettle your wheels (and the rest of it) under Peckham Arch between 5.30-7.30pm on Thursday October 19th.

The good doctor and assistants will fix grinding gears, pump up tyres, tighten your brakes and dispense bike wisdom -- mostly in the form of questions "When did you last clean your chain?" and embarrassing stuff like that.

Other less wise and less valuable assistants will hand out maps, info and gossip. Sadly no coffee. This is the last Dr Bike under the Arch till the spring -- it's getting too cold for their handies -- so gifts will be graciously received.

A picture of the Arch is attached. It's at the north end of Rye Lane just passed the buses-only bit. If you can't find Dr Bike despite the picture and the big hints, first check that it is Thursday and then phone 07842 640 207 for advice.

Since then, they have been found guilty and fined for illegal street trading and collections in June in the City of London. https://news.cityoflondon.gov.uk/we-r-blighty-pleads-guilty-of-illegal-street-trading-and-collections-in-the-city/
    • The Government has set an ambitios target to build 1.5 million new homes bu the end of this 4 year term. Possibly unachievable due to various issues in the building industry but ambitious none the less.  What they seem to have failed to plan for, which was brought home by this year's drought, is adding more inferstructure including Reservoirs, power lines and sewerage treatment centres.  Ate they setting us up for more problems in the future?
    • If you know the layout of the Chequers estate, it is clearly unfeasible and logistically complex to project images onto the facade of the main building. Unless you are the military or something.
