Southwark have installed some ground anchors in Tanner St and are asking for opinions. Here's a link to the survey.

I'd like to see these across the borough and even be able to request locations for them to be installed.

I have just applied for a Cleaner Greener Safer Award, BoosBoss, for the already existing motorcycle parking bays, where we live, to have rails installed along them so motorcycles can be safely secured with D-locks or chains. Just thought you would like to know :)

@RobertF Ground anchors are not really good if you only have D-locks. I only have D-Locks.

I raised with the ED Councillor the fact that the really useful bike park on North Cross Road which has a rail for chains and DLocks, is unavailable for bikers on Saturdays when the market is on, and to my knowledge there are no other bike parks near by. Thanks for the link. Shall complete it.

You would not believe how much effort has gone into getting Southwark Council to try these.

Good luck with your CGS bid PeckhamRose.

And if anyone would like a motorbike ground anchor where they live in East Dulwich ping me an email with your address and I'll get the ball rolling to make this happen for you.

    • It’s a flat fee levy payable by guests staying in hotel and hostel rooms, so added to the bill.  This already happens in Manchester and Liverpool ( I think in Liverpool it’s a percentage, so the more expensive rooms pay more). I read somewhere that Edinburgh is doing this next year? Charges of this kind are becoming common around the world. I think it absolutely makes sense for Southwark and other boroughs are bound to follow.
