seeking an after-school nanny

Recommended Posts

We are seeking an after-school nanny to work 2-6pm Monday-Friday during term time, plus around 4-5 weeks of full days during the school holidays. We will pay ?11 an hour, plus national insurance and tax (if legally required). You will be guaranteed 20 hours of work each week during term-time, with additional pay for the holiday work.

The job involves collecting two primary school age children from school (5 minutes walk from our home), supervising homework, preparing simple meals, taking them to a few activities, and doing some family washing. We have a weekly cleaner who does ironing, so you will not be expected to do those chores as well. The children have an older sister who travels home from her school independently and will join you for some of the time.

We are looking for a reliable and friendly person who can commit to working with us for the long-term, and who genuinely enjoys spending time with children. Our house is very close to Dulwich Library on Lordship Lane.

Please private message me your name and mobile number if you are interested, and I will call you to arrange a meeting.

    • We worked with Eliot recently to get two sets of shelves built. He was excellent! Really high quality craftsmanship, communicative and lovely - I’d recommend Langley Carpentry in a heartbeat.
    • How about trying the upstairs of some local pubs like EDT? They prob won't stay open until wee small hours but worth a try... or night at Rivoli Ballroom Catford (too old?!) or somewhere up in town for drinks rather than hiring somewhere.
    • Sadly crime does seem to be going up in terms of opportunists and street crime / bike thefts etc. Lack of CCTV in this area means it's more of a target than some neighbouring areas according to police (when they sent victim support round after our car had its catalytic converter stolen twice in 6 months by organised gang complete with balaclavas, iron bars and a chainsaw.. driving a 4x4). Crime still relatively low by some parts of London standards but a worrying trend if burglars are trying their luck when people are actually home. Wonder what local police/ MP thoughts are in terms of whether they could organise more community policing patrols. I read a woman was punched in the face on/near Lordship Lane in an unprovoked attack a week or two ago. Terrifying.
    • We had shutters and roller blind supplied and fitted by Affordable Shutters when we first moved into our house in 2012 and highly recommend them. One of the poles and a couple of shutter staples recently came loose and they scheduled in a visit when they were in the area at no charge. Lovely customer service, great quality, honestly cannot fault their service (shutters are made to measure so you have to wait but they're worth waiting for). https://affordableshutters.co.uk/
