Hello, I'm looking for advice please as our son (currently Y6) has been given a half scholarship in sport at Kingsdale. If he gets a place (I know this isn't guaranteed by the scholarship) does anyone know what the sports provision is like and whether the scholarship place amounts to much in practice? I've looked at the web site and it looks like he would get some extra tuition and workshops which looks good, but would be glad of any insight from anyone with a child already there.

Thanks Cora. Do you think the scholarship gives him much more than he would have got anyway? How does it work, do they get extra coaching sessions?


Good to hear the school has an inclusive feel too. It's such a big school (compared to primary) it felt a bit overwhelming on the open days.

      Central and local government are going to have to do multiple things at once (as opposed to the James Barber approach of "there are other things that need to be done by other people elsewhere, so we shouldn't approve building new housing here"). £200m across multiple councils across the whole of England and Wales is not going to crowd out opportunities to build more social housing and to approve other housing built at private expense.

      Question for those with children at DVIS: how do you manage the limited number of places at the after-school wraparound care? In reality - does everyone who wants a place get one because so many don't need it? What alternative wraparound care are people using? Thanks!
