Yes, complain to Royal Mail, no point complaining on here!

It's not just Royal Mail, it's all of them.

Mostly they don't bother to ring the bell, they flap the letterbox a bit in a half-hearted sort of way.

In one case the bell did ring, I went to answer it and got there to see the van driving off and a parcel dumped on my wall (not even on the mat) by somebody who couldn't even have known I was in.

WFHomers have to do their bit for society. A WFH neighbour is a very handy thing.

I had an email from Amazon a few weeks ago, saying "we'd tried to deliver, but no one was in". As the delivery address was a business, there was someone in and available all day. I assumed the driver decided it was time to knock off and just marked everyone as out.

But to the OP, you would probably find that, had you actually seen the postie, he probably didn't have your parcel anyway... just the card.

I had one from RM for a parcel last Friday, but couldn't swear for certain that the bell wasn't rung, given that it was timed at 7.34 am. But I did notice that the postie's name/id part had just a slightly diagonal dash in it. I've no idea if that's the identifier used by one particular postie, or just an anonymous dash. What's on yours?

    • A new roadmap (surely railmap?!) for rail accessibility has been published: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/accessible-railways-roadmap It says "approximately 56% of stations and around 66% of the 1.3 billion journeys that take place on the network have step-free access to platforms...  "£373 million has been committed over the next 5 years to deliver Access for All projects, providing step-free access from station entrances to and between platforms, alongside other essential accessibility upgrades. These works, together, will increase the number of step-free stations across Great Britain from 56% to 58%. "This improvement will make travel easier with step-free access available at stations covering an increased share of total rail journeys – from 66% up to 71%" Don't know what that means for us here: upgrading Peckham Rye would cover a lot of rail journeys but the cost has no doubt increased from the £40m figure previously quoted. So that would eat into a lot of the funding.

    • I would recommend the Dulwich Test and Service centre that used to be in Hindemanns road and then moved to the little Trading Estate off Tyrrel Road. I've used them very happily for nearly 40 years. Paul and Reg Shires.
