Hello mums

My new term of Postnatal Pilates mums tums begins on Tuesday 7th November at my studio in Peckham, 8pm.

The course is suitable for anyone who has had a baby either recently or years ago - we're all postnatal. I specialise in pelvic floor and diastasis recti (abdominal separation) rehabilitaion, with particular understanding of post-caesarean recovery.

This class focuses on strength and release of tension. Lengthening the body and releasing all the demands that small people place on our bodies and minds. Breathing, stretching and lots of lovely muscle strengthening. Over the weeks we tone up and find some space for our bodies and minds.

The class is at my home studio in Peckham, and class size is kept small to ensure lots of individual attention.

6-week term ?70

I'm the author of My Pilates Guru; Pregnancy: the Naked Truth; and my latest book is The Supermum Myth: ditch guilt, overcome anxiety and embrace imperfection.

My next book will publish in 2018: Pilates for Pregnancy which includes a postnatal strengthening programme - postnatal mental and physical strength and vitality is my passion! Having had a tricky time of it with my first baby 6 years ago I've dedicated my teaching since then to help other mums regain their strength postnatally.

Please get in touch if you'd like to know more about the classes or come along.

    • One of the issues is that under this government, the so called black hole of £20 billion has, according to some, risen to £50 billion. Which will result in even more taxes. I was always taught to cut my coat according to my cloth, which would in an ideal world mean having to halt or stop projects or services until the deficit is down to a manageable level. Increasing taxes has a limit (the Laffer Curve https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laffer_curve)  and also damages the economy and the publics ability to spend.  If Labour want to turn things around they are going to have to face some uncomfortable decisions on where to cut their ambition.
    • "Country before Party" is Starmer's motto. Lucy Powell, Burnham and other senior cabinet ministers briefing against Starmer, describing the situation as 'terminal', and publicly condemning him is not putting the country first. They'll be no better than the Tories if they enforce on us a new PM and the political dissatisfaction of the electorate will explode.  Labour needs to get its house in order, but there are too many factions and, just like the Tories at the end, it doesn't know what it is anymore. I think the situation is unsolvable.
    • I saw that too but it was already sold unfortunately -  so if anyone else has one they’re not using I’m still interested! Thanks!
