supergolden88
I made a red lentil dish for baby today that (with the addition of herbs, spices and stock) turned into a super yummy soup for me.Any other vegeterian ideas - that contain protein? I am keen to give him a bit of a break from chicken etc. but most all veg recipes are not very filling. ladywotlunches
Add quinoa to anything you think needs bulking - its protein, not carb, but also acts as a filler-upper. If he's not ready for the texture yet or you don't have time to add to the processor, the plum baby 'first porridge' is rice, quinoa and a couple of other grains that I find useful to add at the last minute if something looks a bit runny, or A is extra hungry and could do with a bit more Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17434-2nd-stage-weaning-veggie-recipes/#findComment-438872 Share on other sites

radnrach
I've been recently using beans, my 8 month old really likes butter bean and butternut squash. I puree it most of the time, but the beans are also good for finger foods if he's ready. I tried couscous with him the other day, but all that ended up happening was having an amusing video of him spitting it out in disgust. I've also boiled eggs and he likes mushing those up and eating them, particularly the yoke. Hope that helps! supergolden88
hmmm I am not too keen on lots of dairy it seems to make him really constipated... Not trying eggs for a couple of months. Think I will wait till he can eat finger food. But hummous is a great idea. Perhaps a stew with chickpeas as well - there's a great curry recipe with chickpeas, coconut milk, potatoes and spinach. now I am really hungry Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/17434-2nd-stage-weaning-veggie-recipes/#findComment-438970 Share on other sites
