Bike Train via quietway 1 Weds Nov 22nd

Quietway 1 is one of London's best and safest cycling routes -- the best if not the only Quietway worthy of the name. It comes within half a mile of Peckham Arch but is completely unsigned until you?re on it. Map attached.

The best approach is via Surrey Canal Path and Glengall Road ? and that?s the way the Bike Train goes. We start from outside Nunhead station at 7.45am and pick up riders at Peckham Rye Station (by the bike stands behind McDonalds) ten minutes later. We arrive at the river around 8.30am depending on which bridge or bridges get the nod.

Further progress depends on where you want to go. Please text ahead to say you are coming and where you want to go to. I?m on 07842 640 207. The branch line from Denmark Hill will not run unless booked ahead. Return rides arranged on request.

Southwark Cyclists is the borough branch of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns for more, better cycling in London. Most of us are members but you don?t have to be. Most of us live in Southwark but some of us don?t and you don?t have to. And everything we do is free

    • I don't really see the issue.  It's taking  up a small part of Goose Green.  I was able to happily eat my lunch there today witthout the fair impinging on my space or enjoyment. I presume they have chosen that location as it is near the playground, so parents with young children often go there at the weekend. • Here you go again trying to twist things saying I made personal saying I don't feel safe, but it's you firing and demanding answers, you're not the police and nor are you a moderator. No its not a reasonable question, nor is saying I should go live somewhere else.  You have a habit on here of "demanding" answers, not on.
    • Is this a popular event? If great demand for this sort of event on such a small space then so be it. It is just with Peckham Common so very close by just wondering why this is considered a preferable venue for this kind of thing?
    • Another recommendation for Jason who is brilliant all-round. He plastered our rooms and hallways (some walls were blown and needed re-boarding), replaced two ceilings and over-boarded one. From the start he was always communicative, happy to pop by to assess first, and transparent about the various options and their associated costs. He worked thoroughly, going above and beyond to make sure every job was finished to a high standard and is very fairly priced, particularly considering the hours he puts in. We’re so pleased with the results of our flat and have already recommended him unreservedly to others. Also helps that he is just a sound guy who’s really easy to chat to!
