Advice on putting car seat in aircraft hold

Hello

We are flying with our new little one in a couple of weeks, and will need to take the car seat (0 - 12 months) for the car at the other end as they do not offer hire car seats small enough. It will have to go in the hold, and I am a bit nervous about the battering it may take. Has anyone done this and have any top tips fpr protecting it? The best I have come up with is bubble wrap and a bin liner!

We've travelled a few times with our LO and have had to check in her pram. The airport bubble wrap (think it costs ?6) has worked brilliantly each time.

We flew to the US in feb with car seat in hold for 6 month old and it came out perfectly at other end, no padding idea just made sure it was all clipped down and straps secure...

We bought a special bag to put out car seat into, think it was from kiddicare - it worked really well
