Ethically sourced Christmas trees delivered to your door. & tips for looking after your tree

Gardenman

Recommended Posts

This week, I am taking orders for ethically grown Christmas trees of all sizes for delivery to your door at weekends to save you some time. Orders placed this week, will be delivered next weekend. I am looking for tree stands if needed & will let you know about these. Sadly I can't find any fairies!! You'll just have to make your own.

I will be making a 10% donation of profits to Shelter. It's going to get cold this winter & in 2017 we shouldn't be having homeless people in our communities.

When you get your tree, keep it outside until you are ready to bring it in, put it up & decorate it. When you get it home cut a small slice off the bottom of the stump to allow it to absorb water when you put it in a bucket of water to rehydrate after its long journey to your home. Put some sugar in the water, or better still, put a bottle of full sugar lemonade in the bucket.

When you bring it indoors, spray it with Luke warm water to allow the branches to settle back into position. Remember to top up the water whilst it is on display. LED lights run at a lower temperature than standard ones helping the tree to remain fresher all the way to Christmas & beyond.

Be careful with positioning of the fairy!! You have been warned :-))

We bought a Xmas tree from Nigel this year and can honestly say that it?s the best looking Xmas tree we?ve ever had and was delivered along with a base direct to our door for a very reasonable price! We will definitely contact Nigel again next year! Highly recommended!

Please remember to phone/text your orders in for delivery over the weekend. Half price stands at ?8 running low.

Trafalgar Square tree goes up tonight. No, I didn't supply that!!! But waiting for someone to order a large outdoor tree so we don't have to go up to town !! :-))

Ok, now the snow has arrived, the pressure is on!! I will be doing deliveries this Monday & Tuesday, so let me know what size, type & if you want a stand. To clarify, the super grade are slightly bushier than the premium grade. They are beautiful quality trees & everyone has loved them so far. Just follow the tips to keep them healthy into the new year.

Enjoy the snow :-))

If you're like me, you've probably left the decorations & tree until now. Well, if that's the case, I can help with the tree part. I will be delivering trees in the area over this weekend. Let me know what size & type you want today & I will deliver them to your door. I'm looking for a new source of tree stand. I'll keep you updated

    • I’m not sure how many other people have experienced this; but both me and one of my friends have the same story. Around Crawthew Grove and Crystal Palace Road: I was followed by a large fox right on my heel. At first I didn’t notice because I had my headphones on, but then I noticed my shadow had an extra lump in it, funnily enough, it was a fox, very very close to my feet. Even if I sped up walking it just tried to get closer - it was quite frightening actually, it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me. I didn’t know what to do so, I started to reprimand the fox and walked slowly away from it, facing it - which it didn’t seem to like and backed off a bit. I then proceeded to speed-walk away.   Quite frankly, the whole situation was quite embarrassing and a little bit frightful as I’d never had a fox even come up to me. I’ve heard of particularly curious foxes that might come up to someone who beckons them, and maybe even bite that person, but I’ve never heard of a fox chasing someone. The amount of confidence that it had was incredible.    When it happened, I was on the way to see some friends, and once I had told one of them, she told me the same thing happened to her.  if anyone else knows anything about this bitey fox then let me know!
    • Another recommendation for Andy. I needed an old kitchen removed as an emergency. Andy came over quickly and did a fantastic job. I have used Andy a few times. He is punctual, helpful and always does an  excellent job.
