The temperature is forecast to have risen only marginally by Saturday but, hey, those forecasters have been wrong before.

This ride starts 10am and finishes 12 noon at the Pavilion Cafe, by the duck pond in Dulwich Park http://www.bing.com/maps/default.aspx?rtp=adr.~pos.51.4466285705566_-0.0827760025858879_College+Rd%2c+London+SE21+7BQ_Pavilion+Cafe_020+8299+1383

It's one of Southwark Cyclists usual easy-paced 2 hour rides using mostly quiet streets and paths. Amanda is going to lead this one. For those who feel that they cycle uphill to Dulwich Park there is a lot more up to come to get to Crystal Palace Park but the group will take it slowly and if necessary walk the steep bits.

Then it's a tour round the park - see the dinosaurs, the ponds etc. The dinosaurs are looking good after some much needed restorative work. More info here: http://www.culture24.org.uk/science-and-nature/dinosaurs-and-fossils/art545172-iggy-dinosaur-crystal-palace-park-exhibition.

Back up to the top of the park and finally a lovely downhill run back to Dulwich Park. The precise route is still a work in progress but they will work it out before Saturday.

Southwark cyclists is the borough group of the London Cycling Campaign which campaigns for more, safer, fun on bikes. Everything we do is free and everyone is welcome. You don't need to be a member of anything to join in and you don't need to live in Southwark. I wouldn't say there are no rules -- there's the usual stuff about keep your clothes on and be polite but there's little temptation not to do the former at the moment and no one has ever been rude (in either sense)

    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
    • One wonders if he would have defected if he had, ahem, held on to the leadership of Southwark and whether he felt that "Labour are no longer the vehicle for social justice" during his leadership election........my how quickly things change in the thoughts of a politician 😉 I think this sums things up quite nicely: A senior Southwark Labour spokesperson hit back: “Local residents can draw their own conclusions about Cllr McAsh’s swift move from Labour leadership hopeful to the Green Party, after he didn’t get his own way. While he’s thinking about his own career, Southwark Labour are delivering for residents.” One wonders if he will stand as a Green candidate in Goose Green.
    • No doubt if he determines to stand for a ward he will enlighten us - at least his track record is one of using this site to communicate (inter alia). I would suspect that (1) his personal views on traffic will have remained consistent but that (2) his views on local democracy and proper consultation will have as well.
