weather proofing/sealing front door

Hello

I am looking to get my front door properly weatherproofed as currently there are lots of gaps etc which let in cold air and the hall is freezing. Grateful for any recommendations.

sarahsouthlondon, a heavy curtain, with a couple of inches gap away from the door, on a rail which curves round

the wall away from the open door, with if possible, a sprawl of curtain on the floor, to absorb the cold air.

I realise this may seem as though there is only fabric between you and the cold outside, but this is effective.

Even better if it is lined, interlined, red/orange/gold, and plenty of it. It is possible to buy a portiere rod which means you will be able to open the door easily, although not as effective as a rail, to be cosy.

The heavy curtain will also absorb noise, you will be astonished at the difference it makes.
