Best route to E7 - Forest Gate

I just accepted a job in Forest Gate, Newham, and would appreciate hearing if anyone travels this direction regularly, and if so what are the best routes. I do drive, and would also consider public transport (although I think that would take a great deal longer?) Any advice would be greatly received.

Well I was bought up there, my family still lives there. I go Blackwall Tunnel then up through Stratford, on a bad day it can take an hour :'( on a good day, like this Monday 25 minutes. Or Rotherhithe then past Mile End Station toward Stratford and on to Forest Gate. Or depending where you live, Honor Oak park to Canada Water, then change to Stratford and 2 stops more to Forest Gate station, bit vague but there it is :))

Mean't to say, I have done the train ride and without the walk there i.e station to station (Stratford) is 30 mins if connections are prompt.

The times are very helpful! It was the closure of the Blackwall tunnel this morning that made me think I needed to know extra routes!! And happy to see that public transport may actually be doable!!
