Wanted - someone who can sew to finish off a curtain!

I started making a curtain for my first son?s bedroom when I was on mat leave with him but didn?t manage to get it finished before going back to work. He?s now 3 and has a baby brother and their room is still curtainless!

After many months of good intentions but no free time or space I have decided to outsource.

It?s a large curtain and was in the final stages when I had to down tools. I have all the materials already. I?m just looking for someone to pick up where I left off. If you?re interested in this job please get in touch.

Many thanks,

Lauren

Hi there,

I suspect your curtains are now finished, but if not there is an excellent seamstress in Forest Hill who specialises in curtain making / soft furnishing. Her name is Ina Hebblethwaite. She made and fitted lined curtains for both our childrens' bedrooms and we were very pleased with the quality of her work. Please let me know if you would like me to send her details.

Kind regards,

Tess

    • Hi folks. A reply from Events re my questions: "Thank you for taking the time to send us this feedback.   We have an internal event debrief booked to take place on Thursday 18 July and all of the issues you have raised have been recorded and will be reviewed at this meeting. I will be able to respond fully to you after this meeting has taken place. There will also be an opportunity for local residents to attend a community debrief meeting. This is scheduled to take place at a venue close to the park w/c 22 July. This meeting will be facilitated by the GALA team, but council officers will be present also. Details will be circulated to those on the council’s stakeholder register and GALA’s stakeholder register and also to anyone who has complained about the event but does not have their contact details listed on either register.     If you have any further questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Charlie Simm         Senior Events Officer       London Borough of Southwark Email direct: [email protected]           Email general: [email protected]  Tel: 020 7525 2739" We must go to the meeting if you're invited because you made a complaint, or are on the list from being invited to the pre-Festival meetings.
    • The Ivy House, lovely as it is,  doesn't book rooms for parties any more, to the best of my knowledge, except in exceptional circumstances. Though you could ask, in case things have changed again. The Castle has a nice function room upstairs, but I have no idea if they book it out  for private parties.
    • We use Virtuo when we go away for a few days, really nice cars (Merc GLA; BMW 1) that are new and clean. They can drop off the car to your house (or street) and pick it up at the end - again, not for a single day, but we tend to go for 3/4 days. Not the cheapest but competitive and for the great cars - we like it. There is also pick-up from ncp near Guy's Hospital. Here's a £30 off referral https://tinyurl.com/virtuoED if you're interested (yes I get that too).  I recently used Zip car for a daily rental-  was more expensive than virtuo rate (though local ED pickup was a plus) - but a 70k mile clapped out MG was a pretty terrible experience - squealy breaks, no suspension, the leather'ish drivers seat threadbare on right side. Surprised any car rental company could keep vehicles on the road that long.
    • We always use Balfes and they are very good too.
