Lovely bright double loft room with its own shower room and views of the London skyline available immediately - ?600 including bills. Sharing with two other females in their 30s in a very spacious, bright flat (each bedroom is on its own floor and has its own bathroom - there is also a large, eat-in kitchen and a very large living room). Pls PM me if interested and I can share photos. Flat is on Barry Road, with buses every three minutes, the no12 night bus, and very easy access to Dulwich and Peckham Rye parks, as well as Peckham and Lordship Lane. We absolutely love living here !

Hi,

My husband and I are looking for a room to rent whilst we buy a house. We,be Sol our place and are living with my parents in Sussex but the 90 minute commute is turning out to be a bit of a nightmare! We,ve not found anywhere to buy yet but we need a room for a minimum of 3-4 months I would expect, perhaps a little longer.

Let me know if that would work and we can have a chat maybe?

I'm 34, Adam is 37, both working professionals, were likely to be out of London most weekends as we go back to Sussex to my parents place...

    • That totally passed  me by- agree with  you totally - think  she must be going thru a bad patch - as Jazzer has mentioned somewhere else, has totally changed her tune but saying that, we all have bad  days and need to get things off our chest. Moving on….never been a fan of Croydon myself - use to have to relocate clients there years  - like everywhere some nice parts and some  not so nice. Not a place  I would go to for a mooch or shopping myself.
    • Thanks Penguin. It could be a coincidence. But after years of road safety being on the local agenda they finally put the crossings in months before Dulwich Estates regain the lease on The Grove.   The Estate understands there is strong local interest in improving this area and we hope to be in a position to share some exciting updates in the near future. The temporary skatepark will remain unaffected. “Temporary skatepark” is telling.
    • Back to my earlier post about familiarity.  I was in Croydon this afternoon walking between the two main stations.  Didn't feel unsafe, but there were some 'interesting' characters on the street.  Not that any were bothered with me. Not a place I'd choose to go for a bit of a fun.  Although having said that West Croydon has some cracking restaurants and the wonderfully named Saints and Sinners bar, where I once went on a corporate do - not that I did many of these. Whoops just checked and it closed a few months ago. Back on track, I never went to the Castle as I felt it was a bit rough.  How wrong was I?  Only real pub left in the area.
    • Wow Sue! I was reading your post with interest as I’ve never really felt unsafe in London and I was born here. It was just your last paragraph that derailed me and totally changed the subject matter! So unnecessary.
