Hi people.

i was walking down friern rd around 2.45 yards from my house when i noticed a young couple on the other side of the road turn round and run back down where they had came from.

I heard them before i spotted them millions of bee's, Ihave only ever witnessed this on the tv before. I panicked to get into my house.

Did anyone see them today in this area? Does anyone know where they came from ? Have;nt opened my back door in case they return as i have two elderly dogs don't want them getting stung.

little bit freaked out. lily

I had that problem a few years ago! I live in marmora road and my window was coverd in bees! for days in hot waether i had to keep my windows shut! Then a friend told my there is a hive in one of the gardens, so figured they came from there! I called the bee keeper out! and slowly dissapeard and never been back since.

Hi all thanks for replies.

To be honest i have not ventured outside since. Will have a look later (maybe)never experienced anything like it. Hope this is not a regular occurance in ed lived here 2 and half years ,might have to ship-out. ha ha.

Its a really scary thing to see. I remember my Dad shouting us all in from the garden a few years ago whilst we were having a BBQ. He could hear a loud buzzing, looked over the wall to our neighbours house and this swarm of around 20,000 bees was flying towards us. It was horrible, when we got inside we ran to shut all the windows, at that exact moment the back room went completely dark, it was like a bee curtain right across the windows. Mum and dad already had a bee's nest down the chimney so we wondered if they were attracted to that. They stayed there for around 15 minutes and then swarmed off up the road, it was at that point you saw groups of people running and screaming back down the street.

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you.
