In the hope that others may be able to avoid the situation I found myself in this arvo (inconsolable toddler, complete with wobbly chin, howling, pointing and clinging to the railings), I thought I'd post to let folk know that the playground in Peckham Rye Park is closed "due to vandalism" and there's a sign up saying repairs are in progress.
They are mending the ripped up surface under the big swings. The only reason they had to shut is because the work man was not provided with enough fencing to secure the small area being treated from little feet getting sticky in the mending stuff. (was told this by the very nice guy himself just before he locked up.
