Sewing machine advice/lessons

Hi,

Does anybody know of any sewing machine introductory lessons for kids that are being run in the area?

My year 4 daughter is pretty good at crafts, and her grandparents bought her a good entry-level Janome sewing machine for Christmas.

However, despite hours of attempts, I can't even thread the thing, so I can't even get her set up to experiment. Clearly, she needs outside guidance.

Worth trying Really Maria on Lordship Lane or StagandBow in Forest Hill. Not sure if they have exactly what you need but Stagsndbow often have kids workshops. The Old School Club in Battersea has kids sessions but a bit further afield.

Don't know where the machine was bought, but some places will give free tuition after purchase.

The sewing machine shop in Deptford does. John Lewis used to, don't know whether they still do.

Alternatively, try googling the model, there are bound to be YouTube tutorials!
