I want to highly recommend the workmanship of Finn Glendon. He's brilliant for anything from little handyjobs and decorating to fiddly wood work. He's worked for us - and our neighbours and friends - many times. Recently, he helped me with a total bedroom makeover in my daughters room, laying a fantastic floor made of painted OSB boards, building in shelves and decorating. He built some amazing storage for shoes and things in the awkward space of our cloak cupboard. He has made an amazing play castle in the garden for his own daughter which must be the envy of all her friends. He's fast and efficient and an all round round nice person to have around.

  Tommy has serviced our boiler for a number of years now and we can’t recommend him enough. Punctual, polite and always super transparent he is a great person to work with.

  New thought for you… since people have recommended the Chinese place in Uplands Road, no idea whether it would accommodate all of you, why don’t you pop in, chat to th em and see as a one off whether they would stay open? Prob going to now say, your tribe don’t eat Chinese as you have already mentioned not all eat Vietnamese… My comment about £20/30 per head was including two/ three courses… now a days a main course is around £15.00… Hope Persian is open…more for your sake! Following with interest…. Friday night in my experience is going to be noisy where ever you go…

  Have been to both pubs in the evenings - whilst fine if there is only a couple of you but quickly gets full up and noisy. It will be a Friday evening - the only time everyone can make it due to work commitments. We went to Maria's Tortillas next to the Picture House last time and the food there was great for everyone, although we did not have the 10 and 12 year olds with us that time. I am hoping that the Persian restaurant opposite Grove Tavern will be opening in the next 3 weeks as this would be ideal. I tend to stick to fish, chicken and veggie meals.
