Does anyone know of any local pools that have a more relaxed adult/child ratio policy than 1:1?

Our 3 are 6, 3 and baby and we'd like to be able to take them swimming without having to rope in another adult.

What about the jelly babies sessions at Peckham or the small pool at beckenham? Both older children would be able to touch the floor so surely we'd be ok there with just 2 adults?

Or happy to pay to join a private health club which are usually less strict but don't know of any locally?

Thanks

Crystal Palace sports centre are more relaxed, I can take my two (3 and 4.5) by myself. They have a couple of teaching pools which are ideal, as the older kids can touch the bottom. I think Beckenham Spa will be OK with 3 kids and 2 adults, as long as the older children are 3 and above.

Hi,

Latchmere leisure centre in battersea allows a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children, as it's a beach entry pool. It also has a little water slide for the kids to play on and a wave machine at the weekends and school holidays. It's about 20 mins drive and has parking.

Kate

Thanks all. I thought the bridge were strict, sure a friend told me they weren't let in there with 3 children. I'll call and ask.

Did email dulwich college sports club once to ask about joining and had no reply. Do you have contact details?

Will try Cp and battersea!

    • There are planes going to more than one London airport. It's been discussed on here before, but I can't remember the exact details. Also if memory serves it depends on the prevailing wind exactly what route the planes take on a particular day, but I may be wrong there. Or maybe they vary the route so the same people don't get the noise each time? I moved here (also North Cross Road area) over thirty years ago and the plane noise has always been bad. I don't think it's got any worse, though it may have done. It has always started around 5am or a bit earlier ( on the days the planes take that route, I suppose?) Concord used to fly over around 5pm each day. That was excellent. It always seemed to be directly over my house, but due to the height of planes I guess many people think they are directly over their house!) Triple glazing in my bedroom has helped, but not completely,  though it wasn't installed for that reason.
    • Morning All,  Looking for the above - anyone got one lurking around looking for a new home before I go and buy one new.  My project for the long winter nights! Thanks in advance.
    • Yes but very noisy during the week - god knows what it would be like at weekends!
    • Been like this for years - flight path changes - use to live off North Cross Road - once years ago counted over 20 in an hour! Felt as though it was coming through living room….
