Wanted: Reusable Nappies (& info about them)

Recommended Posts

I am looking to try reusable nappies this time around and am looking for information and recommendations (positive and negative). Also looking to buy the nappies themselves so if you have any that you'd like to hand on / sell on then please do make contact.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

We use Flip nappies by Bumgenius and I highly recommend this system. I was a bit bamboozled by the various types and trialled a few before settling on Flip ones. I have found this system works really well for us as we are short on storage and drying space and they aren't too bulky for the baby. Essentially you have a nappy wrap with an insert (staydry inserts during the day and organic cotton with booster at night). I add a hemp or bamboo booster during the day if I need the nappy to last longer. I have sourced nearly everything via Ebay at very good prices too. They do really nice limited edition patterns for their wraps too.

I also recommend looking at Cheeky Wipes for washable wipes. I use their box to store them, add a few drops of tea and boiled water.

One big positive aside from the sustainable and economical benefits is that you don't run out of nappies or wipes - as long as you do the wash :) I enjoy laundry so that hasn't been an issue but could be a negative. Another big positive is that washable nappies are fantastic for containment when babies aren't yet on solids. I only ever had a big poo explosion when we used a disposable.

As we have a small bathroom I opted for nappy laundry bags by Planetwise rather than a nappy bin. They have been washed countless times and their colours have still not faded.

Do let me know if you have any questions.

    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
    • It was my understanding that Jeremy Corbyn was embarrassed by his brother and had distanced himself from his brother's views. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Why on earth should "the overall view of that family inform Jeremy's response to the pandemic"? What exactly are you basing that assumption on?
    • I guess it's best to do what most Brits do these days, keep your head down and say nothing! although that's probably why this country is in the mess it is today!  😞
