So a little while ago I posted a thread asking how to motivate my cleaner... Guess what - after I very gently suggested she did things in a different way she went and quit on me - we had one of those 'it's not you it's me' conversations. I was dumped.

My cleaner tried to arrange for someone to take over but she never turned up on the day she was supposed to clean... So now I am asking around for a new cleaner but so far no luck. Cleaning the house with a baby around AND doing freelance work is impossible. I am thinking perhaps I have to go for one of the cleaning agencies.

Questions for those of you who have used an agency in the past. Any advantages to them? Do you have to commit to certain period? Pay upfront? What are the costs involved above what you would normally pay your cleaner?

Agencies and cleaners please don't respond to the thread with marketing info thanks!

    • Maggie Browning a DH councillor recently had a baby and I believe plans to return to work. I think that to have the additional stress of  being a councillor, a new mother and having a job is a good reason for not standing again. Maggie was one of the few labour councillors who were approachable, acted on your behalf in regards to several concerns and appeared at various public events i.e Police SNT Meetings, community events etc. Have met one of the new prospective councillors and introduced her to various community based organisations.
    • Hello, I’m currently looking to buy Jellycat soft toys and LEGO sets for my children. If you have any available for sale, please feel free to message me. Thank you!
    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
    • I'm sorry to learn that though Liam does seems well qualified. Hopefully with McAsh gone, Southwark Labour will turn to Charlie to fill the gap.
